How To Setup A POP3 Account In Outlook 2007

With Every software update comes changes whether they be minor or large there is always some and there has been in Outlook 2007, below I’m going to walk you through the process of setting up a POP3 account in the New Outlook 2007 just to make sure you can complete the process with ease,

Open up Outlook 2007 and let’s begin the walk through.

1. Click Tools and select Account Settings.

2. Select the Email Tab (you’ll most likely there by default).

3. Click New.

4. Select Microsoft Exchange, Pop3, IMAP, or HTTP

5. Click Next.
Now here you can try and let Outlook set up your email its self using your details or we can do it manually. You may try the automatic set up if you wish, for the sake of this tutorial I’m going to select the manual option.

6. Select Manually configure Server Settings.

7. Click Next

8. We are setting up a POP3 account so select Internet E-Mail

9. Click Next

10. You are now required to enter your email information most of which you will know, however you may not know the Incoming and Outgoing Servers. I have a long list of Common Email Servers here if you don’t know, failing that Check with your email provider.

11. Once you have entered all the requirements Click Test Account Settings. This will try and connect to your email account using the details you provided which will hopefully be successful . In the case that it’s please check everything that you entered is correct as this is the most common reason for failure.

12. If you know what you are doing and need to set up additional options then Click More Settings, for most people Clicking Next will be your next move.

At this point the email account is no configured in Outlook 2007 and you can now use it to send and receive emails. I hope you managed to follow this tutorial with ease and encounter no issues along the way.
