Computer Tutorials

I’ve not visited this blog in quite a while and I had heard about the new and updated wordpress, so today I took the time to come and change over to 2.6 and at the same time decided that I also needed a new theme.

Like I said above I’ve not been around in a while now on this blog or the counterpart website. I’m hoping to change this and start to spend a little time each day writing some new content for you. Over the last few months without me doing any work on the site at all my daily visitors have grown to over 300 per day on some occasions over 1000! This has managed to grab my attention and give me some motivation back which I plan to show you soon.

I had fun writing the tutorials for you, I just could’nt keep up the motivation to do them without seeing any change in visitors/comments and the like. However now that I’ve seen changes in all of these I’m going to write some more and see how things go.

I am thinking of adding video tutorials to this site to aid further in the ease of understanding and following them to the full extent and making is slightly more in depth.

For example I would be able to assist you in multiple out coming/situations of the same tutorial for example you may get an error or everything could be fine, well what do you do if you get the one that I’ve not counted for within my tutorials??

Let me know what you think, by either commenting on this blog or email me at Admin@adamsdvds.co.uk and let me know your views on this and I will also answer any questions that you have.

Please speak your mind on this subject because I will base my decision to do these video tutorials  on the response that I receive from YOU everyone of you.

If you have visted my site in the last day or to you may have received an error or something that slightly looked like my site, or maybe you received nothing but a blank page!

I’m sorry to all that received such responses while trying to view my site, the reason for this is down to Hosted my now old hosting company, if you click on Hosted you will see that they are no longer providing Domains or Hosting as of the 15th of October 2007.

This came as quite a shock to me because there had been no proir contact from them stating that anything was a miss. I received the email from them telling me about this on the 19th!!!

So since then I have been arranging everything to move my site to a new company which is why you may have received down time from adamsvds.co.uk.  Everything is back up and running fine now you should not receive any more issues from the site, if however you do find soemthing that you think is a miss please feel free to contact me and let me know.

I am now hosted with Weycrest and tho I have had  a few issues moving the site over and getting everything working again, they have been quick to responde and offer good advice and quick assistance.

It’s been some time now since my last post, for this I apologise

Now I have got some time back in my life and have been writing a few tutorials, I am going to be adding at least one tutorial per day for as long as I can.  Hopefully this will be an on going thing now and I’ll actually be able to grow the site.

As you may have noticed already, the tutorials that I’ll be adding will mainly be based on Windows Vista as this is the Operating System that I am now using.  Many people have been bad mouthing Vista… I’m still unsure why? maybe it is because I have quite a good understanding of computers that has made it possible for me to have a smooth transition… maybe I’m lucky… either way I’m loving Microsoft’s new version of Windows.

I will try to write and add as many tutorials as possible, hopefully making this Vista shadow that most people have disappear by making it as simple for you to use as possible and giving you the solutions to all your issues.

Once I have the cash and the time I will also be getting the whole site redesigned so that I can brand myself and give myself more of a nice welcoming image.. if anyone has any suggestions I’d love to hear from you.

When will you learn?

On an average day I’m deleting and reporting up to 50 spam posts!!

You post to my blog day in day out with your perfetic advertising posts trying to link to drugs or porn yet by now you must be thinking were are my comment posts?

Well thats a simple question, I have to moderate every post before it is shown on my blog so there is no chance what so ever you are going to be able to get link backs from my blog or free advertisment!

Why bother! Can you not see your getting know where?

Thats right it’s been a while now since I’ve done anything on the site due to personal (real life) comitments. This week I’ve managed to grab a little time and I have done a little SEO work on the site, not much as I’m still struggling for time but a little none the less and they say that every little counts don’t they.

Reason why I’ve not been updating much recently can be found out by reading back in this blog, at the moment my childminder is on holiday so I’m looking after my son, he goes back next Wednesday and then I will be doing the back garden (cutting two trees down, laying decking, crazy pathing and general work) once this is all completed and I have no work left to do and no kids to look after I will start to add tutorials again.

I know it must seam like I have been saying this forever now but I’m very serious because I would love to just be able to sit down and type away at content that I can add to this site, as everyone should know the more you put into something the more you get out of it..

It’s just a matter of time now and I’m hoping sooner rather then later.

On another note, if you would like to write tutorials for the site I would be very interested to hear from you.  I would not be able to pay you because at the moment this is just a hobby but I would give you full credits for each tutorial you submit.. so if nothing else you would get your name and a backlink to your site if you have one, if this is something that interests you then send me an email at admin (at) adamsdvds.co.uk and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Well once again everything has taken over my life and not give me the time to update my site what a suprise I guess you are saying by this point! Well I’m starting to think the same!  Every time I say that I’m going to do something something gets in my way and stops me from doing anything so this time to stop that I’m not going to say when I’m going to start updating again because that will most likely make it impossible again.

I seriously want to update and add things as soon as possible because all this time of me not updating and doing nothing to help the site improve I’ve somehow managed to get more and more visitors to my site and rank is going up all over the place and its really making me want to add more asap to make things even better then they seen to be doing at the moment.

So yes once again I’m going to say that I will be updating soon I just cant be sure on when, tho it will be soon!!! this time I’m serious because I would love adamsdvds to do really well in the future I’m looking to even consontrate on it full time as soon as thats finantionaly possible but that will depend on how much work it put into the site, that I know.

As I’m sure you can tell I need and want so much to start updating soon and more and more to the site to drive in more traffic and possibly in the future starting up a forum to go alongside my site to create a community of people with problems and people with solutions to them problems, which I’m sure would add more life to the site but that would require to much time that sadly at the moment I can not give to the site (Which I do hate! with a captial H).

Just don’t want you all to think that I’ve left and not coming back because that is not the case in the slightest its just been a roll of events that seam to be coming one after the other latley that want to get in my way and stop what I’m trying to do and lets not forget what I am trying to do.  Help YOU the person reading this the people that need computer help!  And I don’t plan to stop untill I can say that everyone knows about this site and how to find it for the help they need.

Just be assured of one thing if nothing else, that I’m not going anywhere for a long long time!!

Here is something interesting I just found out about, I’ve seen this around a few times but not really took any notice. Have a look at the image below to see how much this blog is worth, nothing worth talking about at all yet! I’m hoping that I can say something very different on this subject in the future.



Well I’ve just got back from the hospital and my wife has now had the op done and she was just coming round, shes really drugged up at the moment but other then that she seams fine and should be out tomorrow or early Thursday morning.

Which means I can now give you a time scale on when I will be updating the site again.  A week from now seams like a good ETA because there is still going to be a few days while my wife rests and starts to recover.

You should see the stones that they took out!! Jesus! there huge! about the size of a malteaser and two slightly smaller ones, they have took the gallbladder out and managed to do the whole thing “key hole” which is good.

So thats about it for now just have to see how things play out now, but like I said give it a week and I’ll be updating the site again.

WoooHoooo! I received a phone call this morning at 8:30 from my wife telling me that shes about to go down for the op, which is great and its turning out to be a really nice day, the sun is shining and it seams to be a good day all round.

Not sure which op they have had to do yet tho, weather it be key hole or open I’ll know more soon and I’ll let you know whats going on… looks like this bad stage is passing finally.
