browser.cache.memory.enable

This tutorial is going to show you how to turn On or turn Off caching in Mozilla Firefox,
Caching ON: With caching turned on, an amount of memory will be set aside to store the cached pages.
Caching Off With caching turned off, no memory will be set aside giving you more free.



Should it be On or Off? This depends on personal preference and is entirely up to you, there are benefits to both on and off. Do you often use the back button? if so then this is ideal left with the default setting which is On, but if you don't use the back button much or even at all then its better to be Off.

Important Remember to back-up First!



Step One

Open Firefox either by Double Clicking on the 'desktop icon'.
or
Hold down the 'windows key' and press 'R' type in 'Firefox' and Click OK

Step Two

In your address bar type about:config

Step Three

Type config.trim_on_minimize into the filter bar as seen below.

Double Click browser.cache.memory.enable

Double clicking browser.cache.memory.enable

Step Five

Double Clicking browser.cache.memory.enable will toggle between On and Off
Default is True = Caching ON
User Set is False = Caching OFF
After Doubling clicking in the previous step it should be on User Set See Value in images below

If you want caching On Caching On

If you want caching Off Caching OFF

Step Six

Close All Firefox windows.

Finished!

You have now either set your caching to Off or On(default) the next time you open Firefox the changes will take effect to view caching be used and more info type about:cache into your address bar.
