How to Backup Firefox 2 with MozBackup
In this tutorial we are I'm going to show you step by step how to use MozBackup to Create a backup for your Mozilla Firefox Version 2, although this tutorial can be used with older versions of Firefox too.
Step One
Double Click the MozBackup icon
Step Two
Click Next
Step Three
Leave Backup a Profile selected
Choose which version of Firefox you wish to Backup
Then Click Next
I'm Backing up Firefox version 2 (see image below)
Step Four
If you encounter the error you see in the image below, you have Firefox open and you must close it before we continue.
If you have no errors continue onto Step Five
Step Five
Now you must choose the profile to backup, if you are unsure then its most likely Default
So Click the Profile you wish to backup then click Next
Step Six
You are now asked if you wish to password protect the backup.
If you selected yes continue onto Step Seven
If you Selected No Continue onto Step Eight
Step Seven
Enter a password of your choosing into the Password box then type the same password into the Confirm Password box
Then Click OK
Step Eight
You must now select the options that you wish to backup
I suggest you tick all the Boxes
Then Click Next
Please Note: Some Firefox Extensions will not restore as they where before, just be aware of this! MozBackup will also warn you of this.
Step Ten
MozBackup is now backing up the profile/s
Step Nine
Click Finish
Where is the backup?
Your backup is saved in My Documents
Start ~ My Documents
And should like something like the image below
Finished!
Now you have backed up Mozilla Firefox you don't have to worry about messing up when you are tweaking in my later tutorials as you have a backup to restore in the event of a problem. Please note: You can move the backup to where ever you like, even burn it to a CD or put it USB Flash Drive. Where ever is most convenient for you.
