Repair Your Internet Connection With Diagnose And Repair In Windows Vista
This will only work for miner issues for example your internet dropped for a second or a program caused it to drop it will not work if your router is not configured correctly or your ISP is down - issues that very rarely happen on stable Internet providers like O2 broadband. If all the above is not an issue and Diagnose and Repair still doesn't work then you will need to unplug your router/modem and possibly reboot... this tutorial is intended to be your first step before you do any of the above.
Step One
Right click your Network icon in the bottom left hand corner.
Step Two
Click Diagnose and repair.
Step Three
This step is only if you do not have a network icon and was unable to do the above two steps.
Click on start and type in Network
Step Three
Now click on network and sharing center
Step Four
On the left hand side click Diagnose and Repair
Thats it
Once you have click on Diagnose and Repair windows vista will try and resolve the issue if there is a serious issue this method will not work and you will have to reboot your modem/computer/router and if issues still exists then you will need to contact your ISP. However this method should be your first point of contact.
