How To Get Telnet Back In Windows Vista

Windows vista does not instell Telnet by default no idea why this is the case, however in this tutorial im going to show you how to get the use of Telnet back. There are plenty of updated programs that are in use today that cover what Telnet does and more (putty, ssh, etc) but of the people that would still like to use telnet then read on.



Step One

Click on the Start Menu

Click on Control Panel

Step Three

Scroll down until you find Programs and Features then double click program features

Step Four

From the menu of the left, select Turn Windows Features On or Off

Step Five

You need Administrate privaliges to go any further, so you will be displayed with a dialog box asking you to confirm, Click Continue.

Step Six

Scroll down until you find Telnet Client

Step Seven

Check the box for Telnet Client

Step Eight

Click OK

Telent Client Checked Saving Changes

Step Nine

Now you will be displayed a dialog telling you that vista is updating the changes, once this is completed you will have Telent on vista
