What are User Accounts and why should I use them
A user account is basically a profile for each person that uses the computer if one user add's a desktop icon or something similar it will only be displayed in there account so when you log onto yours nothing would have been changed, this can be very useful if you are sharing a computer with children. each user can change there background, visual style and store there own files without everybody information merging together and causing confusion.
Creating user accounts for people also enables you to give them limited access to the computer meaning that some things are out of there reach and cannot be changed by them (including user account). Only accounts with Administrator capabilities can change user accounts and modify system settings.
The two types or user accounts are displayed below:
Computer Administrator Account
can create and delete user accounts
can create passwords for users
can change other peoples picture, password, name, account types and view all users files etc.
can install software, hardware
Limited Account
Cannot install software, hardware (can use already installed software)
cannot change account type to administrator
cannot change major system files, folders
