How To Set Up A New User Account In Windows XP

Windows XP gives you the feature to add multiple accounts for user's giving each user there own desktop and settings, and more important there privacy. This tutorial is going to show you how to create a new user account so that someone else can use your computer without having to worry about your privacy being compromised and protecting your settings.



Step One

Click on Start and select Run
Or
Hold down the windows key and Press R then click OK

Step Two

Type in nusrmgr.cpl then Click OK

Step Three

Click Create a new account

Step Four

Type in a name for the account ( usually the users name ) Click next

Step Five

You can either give the user Computer administrator or Limited
This depends on what amount of access you wish to give the user (Hover over computer administrator and limited to find out more about each one.)

Step Six

Click Create Account

That's it!

If you look at the image below you will now see that the new account has been added, at the moment there is no password set for the new account there for when the computer boots up you will just be able to log into the new user account without using a password.
