How To Set A Password On A Users Account - Windows XP
This tutorial is going to show how to set up a passwords for your user accounts, there for giving the user move privacy. by setting a password you are also protecting the user from some of the many threats that that out there, as having a password on a user account gives only the user access to there account.
Step One
Click on Start and select Run
Or
Hold down the windows key and Press R then click OK
Step Two
Type in nusrmgr.cpl then Click OK
Step Three
Click the User Account that you wish to set a password for.
I'll be using the Account Name (Example) Account
Step Four
Click on Create a Password
Step Five
Enter a Password you would like to use and then again into the confirm box
Don't worry about the password hint box unless you think you are going to forget your passwordNever put your password into the hint box!
Step Six
Once you have entered your password Click on Create Password
Done!
That's all there is to it! A password has now been set for the account you was editing so the next time you log into that account you will need to enter the password before you will be given access.
